I’m on the downtown streets of my city looking around and the infrastructure does something one can only call: Inspire.
Downtown homes and old businesses with architectural styles ranging from Queen Anne to Greek revival. Complete with hand carvings under the eaves of three story structures, slate mansards, ionic columns supporting porch post with wooden balusters below hanging decorative scroll work. This is not four simple, straight angles. The list goes on to include Colonial revival, Folk Victorian and Shingle Style. These homes and buildings are from the 1800s and serve as the embodiment of our point: They weren’t build as a reaction to the personality-less modernistic, brutalistic stylings. They were built centuries before and through honest, effort filled vision.
This is the non-human aspect. The design of old.
The humans around me are nothing to write home to mom about. This is a digression, highlighting that beauty is scarce. Still yet! Regardless how homely all are capable of becoming better each day and this is the message in a bottle. Things can always be better. The grass is greener, somewhere.
The main rebuttal for the Revolt Against The Modern world is that we’re reacting to the modern world. It seems to say; the modern world and everything with it is causing us to revert back to the old ways. This is where trads and homesteaders lose the game.
They’re quick to revert back to the way it was right-before-modernism took over. A world without debit cards, internet, in the woods and self sufficient. Man with an ax and some cows to look over. I respect this. I pray for the safety of these people but this lifestyle at best is a lack of creativity and at worst a ‘rebellious’ form of giving up. Neobeats. There are tools today that allow you, instead of backtracking, to progress into a new movement with the advances we have. This is being a visionary. This is not simply going left because the world is going right. This uses the tools of our modern era and inverts it for our own personal uses. Praxis is on the forefront of this.
The way this is utilized in the real world: acknowledging the tools. Internet. Speed. Quick communication. Personal sovereignty (location independence, learning online), and methods of making income: building websites, selling trinkets across the world from your living room, reaching 5million people with one tweet that took 35 seconds to write.
This is our GIFT. We have the arsenal of a technologically advanced world and it should be used as a knife to twist into the body of the world that you hate. I speak about this in Celebrating The Funeral and it may, typing this out, be a central theme throughout the book that’s just now coming to light.

We can’t go backwards. We can’t go hide in the woods. It’s not the route that will, in the longest run, save you or your family.
But we can’t continue urbanizing the world this way. Crime is up, random stabbings in the street, looting. There’s a world wide phlegm of anxiety above the people of today driven by heavy medication, unfulfillment and the overwhelming sensation of being ‘trapped.’ But instead of changing, they distract more through the historical methods: Degeneracy. Now, I’m a believer of the Dionysian. There’s deep rooted liberation in certain aspects of vice. Dancing naked with a woman under moonlight beside the ocean does something to the spirit and I don’t believe it to take you from God, either.
But the gold lining is in not getting lost in this. Not drinking daily until you forget. Not smoking weed until the Bad Outside, the Boring Days, become just OK. Not jacking off so that you find a piece of pleasure in a misery filled world.
This is the point. We are drowning ourselves with things that take us from reality and we’re doing that because the reality we experience isn’t what we imagine it should be, can be.
The better route. The only route I see saving yourself on a personal level is this: Having an ideal in you head. No matter how unrealistic, how improbable. No matter how loud the spiritual accountants will yell at you that ‘it isn’t possible.’ Then following that ideal to the end of your world. There are tools laid out today that aid us in changing the world.
Public school is one. This place is glamorized prison. Riva speaks on this and articulates it better. But one with two eyes and ears willing to listen to what’s happening in public school should be able to deduce as much. They twist the hands of parents so that, if one doesn’t follow the rules (in recent times, get vaxxed) their kids are no longer allowed to be there. You see the slippery slope of regulations as such. There is no freedom here. If one choice removes your ability to participate you’re, by design, forced to follow. Obligated to get-in-line. And we see this abused in the school systems.
But we have innovations. Advancements in education. We have educated tutors available online. We have the opportunity for pod schooling. 3-7 families with a couple kids in the same age groups designing a curriculum, hiring an affordable teacher and using a central location for ~4 hours a day, ~3/4 times a week for lessons. This cuts out downtime. Cuts out the time where kids linger in hallways between class, keeps them more engaged as they, individually, are a fifth of the ‘school.’
Caveats exists. I’m not naive to believe I’ve cracked the modern problem. But I’m naive enough to believe there is a way that someone smarter than me, someone willing to look closer, can find. WILL find.
I believe the world as we know it is crumbling around our feet.
This is not apocalyptic. It’s the shedding of snakes skin. It’s a rebirth. Mike Ma promotes this. His philosophy of Ascension - tear down that which is already crumbling so that it’s gone from our World quicker. Add fuel to the fire so it burns and then we can begin to rebuild.
These changes will be deep rooted and systematic. They will stretch across fields. Medical, education (lower and higher), tech, housing. All of these ‘problems’ have solutions that exist right under our noses but we’re constantly told we have no power, we’re just citizens, we can’t dictate macro direction. I don’t believe this.
I believe we all have the power to change the world. Especially if that world is something that falls short of our ideals. The opportunity is given to us through the tools of today. Build something. Create leverage. You need nothing from the world as our parents knew it. There is a sun below the earth surface, night still reigning above, waiting to be pulled up on the string of human Energy, Excitement, Belief!
